Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC)

The Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2011. C-TECC was convened initially to speed the transition of military medical lessons learned from the battlefield to evidence-based and best-practice-based operational medical guidance for medical response and treatment of the injured during high-risk and atypical civilian operational scenarios.

TECC utilizes data from high-threat incidents while accounting for differences in the civilian environment, resources, patient population, and scope of practice from the military combat environment. TECC guidelines are best practice recommendations for casualty management during civilian tactical and rescue operations.

C-TECC is comprised of a broad range of interagency operational and academic leaders in the practice of high-threat medicine and fire/rescue from across the nation, including members from emergency medicine, emergency medical services, police, fire, and the military special operations community.

TECC recommends treatment modalities based on the situation and available assets. The primary tenets of placing far forward timely medical care and doing the right thing at the right time are also paramount in the TECC guidelines.

The TECC guidelines will continue to be updated using evidence-based medical best practices and will remain under the custodianship of C-TECC.

Ukrainian College of Surgeons

The Ukrainian College of Surgeons is a professional organisation advancing surgical practice, trauma care, education, and evidence-based medicine across Ukraine.

Its work has particular relevance to tactical medicine, linking the management of casualties in high-threat and resource-constrained environments with onward trauma and definitive surgical care. The College’s cooperation with Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense Health Department further strengthens its relevance to military and operational healthcare.

For BRITMA, the College brings an important perspective on the continuum of tactical trauma care, connecting point-of-injury interventions and prehospital management with the surgical care that follows.

CanTacMed (Canada)

CanTacMed is a Canadian tactical medicine community dedicated to advancing tactical and operational medicine through education, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge and best practice.

Bringing together tactical medics from across Canada and beyond, it provides a platform for professional development, networking, and the exchange of operational experience.

Through its annual conference and ongoing engagement, CanTacMed promotes evidence-informed practice, encourages collaboration, and supports the continued development of tactical medical capability across Canada.

Combat Medical Conference Association (CMCA)

The Combat Medical Conference Association (CMCA) is the driving force behind one of the most influential international initiatives in tactical medicine. At the core of its activities stands the Combat Medical Care Conference (CMC)—its primary platform and flagship project.

Since 2014, the CMC Conference has brought together military and civilian clinicians, medics, and operational experts from around the world. It represents the practical and scientific embodiment of CMCA’s mission: to advance combat casualty care and tactical medicine through education, collaboration, and the translation of real-world operational experience into improved medical practice.

Through the CMC Conference, CMCA enables global knowledge exchange, hands-on training, and the continuous development of medical readiness across the full spectrum of care—from point of injury to definitive treatment.

TREMA (Germany)

TREMA – Tactical Rescue & Emergency Medicine Association is Germany’s national professional association for tactical medicine, bringing together practitioners from military, law enforcement, emergency medical services and other operational disciplines.

The association works to advance tactical and emergency medicine through education, professional collaboration, scientific exchange and the development of evidence-informed practice for challenging and high-risk environments.

TREMA supports education and training across areas including Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), while also contributing to the development of professional recommendations, medical equipment and operational medical capability.

TREMA promotes the sharing of knowledge, operational experience and good practice to support the continued development of tactical medicine.

The Finnish Tactical Medical Association (FITMA)

FITMA is a Finnish non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing evidence-based tactical and high-threat medicine.

FITMA brings together clinicians, operators, medics, responders, and experts from across Finland to share learning from real incidents, forensic insight, and survivor experience — supporting realistic education, improved inter-agency collaboration, and better outcomes at high-threat and mass-casualty events.

The European Journal of Tactical Response & Medicine

The European Journal of Tactical Response & Medicine aims to enhance understanding of current and emerging threat scenarios while promoting the knowledge and expertise needed to respond effectively. Dedicated to first responders across law enforcement, military, emergency medical services, fire and rescue services, and other civilian organisations, the journal delivers expert analysis, operational case studies, field reports and specialised knowledge. It serves as a unique platform for communication, interdisciplinary collaboration and professional exchange within the tactical response and operational medicine community.

European Tactical Medical Association (ETMA)

From a BRITMA perspective, the European Tactical Medical Association (ETMA) is recognised as a key strategic partner in advancing tactical and high-threat medicine at a European level. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to evidence-based practice, professional collaboration, and the strengthening of tactical medical standards across borders.

Through close alignment and mutual support, BRITMA and ETMA work together to connect national expertise with wider European learning and influence.
